Program details

If you're in your pre-penultimate year of study and want to explore the legal profession while building meaningful connections, Career Launch is for you.

As part of the program, you will:

  • Be paired with an experienced Clayton Utz professional for personalised guidance and career advice.

  • Gain practical insights into the legal profession through exclusive events and skill-building opportunities

  • Develop a deeper understanding of live at a leading law firm and the pathways to your future career.

The program is available in our Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney offices.

Please note that this is not a paid role or employment opportunity. Career Launch is a learning and networking experience aimed at fostering connections and professional growth.

Is this program for me?

Yes, if you are: 

  • enrolled in a Bachelor of Laws or a Juris Doctor at an Australian university.

  • in your pre-penultimate year of study (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd year of LLB, or 1st year of JD).

  • passionate about learning, developing yourself, and building connections with experienced professionals.

Key dates

Applications will open on Monday 16 March 2026 and will close on Friday 10 April 2026.

Each office will host a kick off event and networking evening in or around May 2026, and a wrap-up event and networking evening around October or November 2026. Exact event dates will be shared nearer the time.

The program broadened my understanding of commercial practice, especially in a top-tier firm, and was overall an invaluable experience.
